title = "Comparative study of the H-Component variations of the earth
magnetic field during quiet days at three magnetic Stations in the
south american sector",

abstract = "The daily variations of the Earths magnetic field in quiet days
generated by the electric current systems that flow in the
ionosphere are superimposed to the normal Earth Magnetic Field due
to the main field generated at the Earths core and to the
variations due to magnetospheric sources. Regarding to that
variation from ionospheric sources, the equatorial electrojet is
the main source of the H-component variations along to the dip
equator. In latitudes away distant from the dip equator, we expect
the effect to be reduced, resting the Solar Quiet (Sq) E-Region
system influence only. In the present work we intend to analyze
the H-component of the magnetic field in magnetically quiet days,
registered at three magnetic stations that cover regions close,
close apart and away from the dip equator: S{\~a}o Lu{\'{\i}}s
(2.33° S, 44.20°), Eus{\'e}bio (3.89°S, 38.44°O) and S{\~a}o
Martinho da Serra (29.43° S, 53.80° W), respectively. We will show
a statistical analysis of the H-component variations of the
magnetic field at these three latitudes including a comparative
study of the difference between the mean values measured at each
minute and the local midnight value. Wee will also show the
evolution of the dip angle at the three stations. The Dst magnetic
index was used to classify magnetic activity.",
